Copenhagen’s Emotion Center is pleased to present our “masterclass” teaching series. In these courses, we offer advanced-level training by prominent clinicians, who have inspired us over the years – our “masters”. While our intention is to offer courses suited to stimulate clinicians with a firm grasp of the technique and metapsychology of ISTDP, we warmly welcome colleagues at all levels of proficiency.
*About the course*
We are thrilled to present the first semester of our ongoing masterclass with John H. Rathauser. The class will focus on review of video material from John Rathauser’s practice, and ongoing discussion of Rathauser’s style and technique with the participants. We intend the atmosphere of the class to be relaxed and conversational, striving to work through two video-recorded sessions in each gathering. Since the course presupposes a fundamental familiarity with the technique and metapsychology of ISTDP, the meetings will feature only minimal didactic presentation of background theory, keeping its main focus on the review of actual case material. The cases shown will span both of Davanloo’s psychodiagnostic spectra – psychoneurotic as well as fragile. This class offers a unique opportunity to become familiar with John Rathauser’s style of ISTDP, which we find to be powerful, clear, and with strong roots in Dr. Davanloo’s original style of ISTDP.
